Board of Directors

The LA Chinatown CLT promotes a democratic control of land and ensures that community participation is embedded in the organization’s decision-making process. The Board of Directors is based on a tripartite governance structure comprised of (3) categories of elected Directors, each consisting of approximately one third (1/3) of the total elected board: “Lessee Representatives” representing Lessee Members, “Community Representatives” representing members who live within the Chinatown-City of Los Angeles boundary, and “General Representatives” representing the interests of the general public.

  • Karen Law (President)

    Karen Law (she/her) is a Lessee Boardmember. Her family settled in Chinatown after immigrating from Hong Kong. Chinatown and its community helped give her family a foundation to begin their life in Los Angeles.

  • Elise Dang (Secretary)

    Elise Dang (they/she) is a Lessee Boardmember. Elise is also an organizer with CCED for a little over 2 years. Their family has had a small business in Chinatown since 1995. They work for a Chinatown based non-profit called Food Access Los Angeles as an operations manager for our Northeast LA farmers’ market.

  • Tim Mok (Treasurer)

    Tim Mok (he/him) is a Community Boardmember. Tim is a Chinatown resident and sustainability non-profit professional. Tim has experience in environmental justice, philanthropy, workforce development, and is the third generation in his family to live in Chinatown. 


  • Amy Zhou

    Amy Zhou (they/she) is General Boardmember. Amy is a Co-Chair of the CCED Research Committee and Senior Planner at Chinatown Community Development Center in San Francisco. They are a founding member of the LA Chinatown CLT (as well as the former interim Board President), and they graduated from UCLA with a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning in 2020. They’re committed to centering tenants and building power and stabilizing the Chinatown community.

  • Audrey Jang

    Audrey is a Community Boardmember. She is a planner and a land use attorney, from Koreatown and served on the board of the Beverly-Vermont Community Land Trust from 2019-2024. She is committed to Chinatown CLT's mission, particularly in organizing to protect Asian immigrant elders who are especially vulnerable to gentrification.

  • Eugene Moy

    Eugene Moy (he/him) is a Community Boardmember. He was born in Los Angeles Chinatown.  He is an active member of several local organizations, including the Chinese Historical Society of Southern California,, the Chinese American Citizens Alliance, and the Chinese American Museum. Eugene is retired after a career working for cities in Los Angeles County in economic and housing development and in housing management.

  • Eileen Ung

    Eileen is a General Boardmember. She is a daughter of Cantonese-Cambodian refugees and was born and raised in Long Beach where she spent her weekends growing up in Chinatown. Eileen has committed her time and resources to promoting more democratized, participatory, justice-centered practices in philanthropy and the broader finance ecosystem.

  • Joseph Amaral

    Joseph Amaral is a Lessee Boardmember. As a current Chinatown resident, he has devoted his time and efforts in advocating for affordable housing in the community.

  • Winnie Fong

    Winnie Fong (she/her) is a General Boardmember. She is an urban planner based in DTLA with a focus on affordable housing and equitable economic development. She is also a founding member of the LA Chinatown CLT.
